RCSO captures wanted suspect

Local law enforcement was out in full force during the midnight hours on Friday looking for an armed and dangerous suspect who was believed to have some connection to a family violence altercation.

Thursday night around 9:39 p.m. deputies responded to a residence off of Key Lane. Upon arrival to the area, deputies met with the victim, whom had visible injuries and indicated that the suspect had left on foot.

While interviewing the victim further and processing the scene, deputies stayed in the area searching for the suspect. The suspect was identified as Terry Lee Williams, 44.

Williams had been spotted on Camp Creek Road with a weapon in his possession. This resulted in the Code Red and Social Media notifications. Williams also had active warrants for his arrest for Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, Terroristic Threats and Acts, and Battery under the Family Violence Act according to the RCSO.

Deputies located Williams after searching for him in the rain nearly several hours after the initial BOLO was placed. Williams was arrested without incident and as of Friday remains lodged in the Rabun County Detention Center.
