RCSO arrests two Franklin men on drug trafficking charges

Two men from Franklin, North Carolina were arrested Tuesday by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine into county limits.

On the evening of June 18, a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US 441/GA 15 at Camp Creek Road for a traffic violation.

The deputy’s K9 partner was deployed and alerted a positive drug indication on the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, Steven Knight and Paul Swofford were arrested for Trafficking Methamphetamine and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

Knight received additional charges of Failure to Maintain Lane and Driving Without a Valid License.

Both subjects were transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
