RCSO arrests illegal immigrant

Last Wednesday, law enforcememnt detained an illegal immigrant who was arrested after authorities discovered all forms of identification were either expired or canceled.

This discovery came after deputies were dispatched to Davis Gap Road for an 18-wheeler stuck in the roadway.

All traffic was blocked on HWY 76 West until the wrecker arrived on scene to get the 18-wheeler out of the way so traffic could pass.

Deputies learned while talking to the driver Sergio Ontiveros-Ruvalcaba, 68, of Mexico, that he was coming from North Carolina and was heading to Augusta, Georgia.

When asked for identification, however, Ontiveros-Ruvalcaba provided law enforcememnt with a Mexico license, and two passports, all of which were expired or canceled. The logbook was also deemed as inaccurate.

Deputies had the 18-wheeler towed to a nearby gas station and deployed their K-9 who got a positive hit on the inside of the trailer.

Law enforcement then removed the lower sheet of plywood which had been screwed into the wall concealing empty slots behind it. However, all that was recovered was a tracking device.

Ontiveros-Ruvalcaba was arrested for driving without a proper license and driving without a CDL.
