RCS makes the switch to ESS

A contract previously held by Kelly Services, an outside hiring firm used to hire substitutes within Rabun County Schools has been replaced with Education Solution Services.

Superintendent Melissa Williams said the reason for the switch was attributed to not only cost savings but ESS specializes specifically in education, while Kelly Services caters to a wide array of establishments.

“Before I became Superintendent here, Rabun County Schools had entered a contract with Kelly Services. They actually hired the substitutes and we used them for the hiring process. Kelly Services provided not just temporary subs, but they also provided help for a lot of different business entities,” Williams said.

Williams said recently there has been more of a focus on finding a provider who deals solely with education.

“Recently there has been more of a focus on finding a service provider who deals only with education. Because education has certain needs that a lot of other private business don’t have, which is why it was a good idea to switch to ESS,” she said. “ESS does nothing but provide temporary substitute teachers to school systems.”

The motion to award ESS the contract was approved by the Board of Education at it’s most recent meeting.
