RCMFA presents gift to music program

Music education continues to thrive in Rabun County thanks to the legacy of the Rabun County Music Festival.

The Rabun County Music Festival Association recently presented a generous monetary donation to not only Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School but also Rabun County High School music program(s).

The Rabun County Music Festival began in 1999 under the leadership of Gene Haywood and Sharon and John Hoppes. Since then, the group has been a major player in advancing the arts in Rabun County.

The organization hosted their summer concert series in the Rearden Theater on campus, bringing in talent from across the region, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. In addition to the entertainment and culture they brought to Rabun County, the Rabun County Music Festival Association was committed to providing scholarships to Rabun County students pursuing an education in the visual or performing arts.
