Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School inducts Two into Athletics Hall of Fame

During Homecoming Weekend, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School inducted two alumni into its Athletics Hall of Fame.  Jan Brown Bonner ’69, girls basketball, and Antuan Guzman ’09, boys soccer, helped pave the way for two of Rabun Gap’s most successful state championship programs.  The late Jan Brown Bonner was a standout player on the basketball court, scoring 1,500 points during her time at Rabun Gap. Jan grew up on campus and was the daughter of Morris Brown, who served Rabun Gap for more than 40 years as a teacher, basketball coach, and Headmaster.  Jan’s sister and family accepted the award on her behalf at the induction ceremony.  Antuan Guzman is the first soccer player and first international student to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.  Former Rabun Gap soccer coach Daniel Ostojic ’99 shared memories of Antuan’s time in the soccer program, including that he scored six goals in a single game.  Antuan continued his education at Appalachian State after graduation to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor.  He is currently practicing medicine internationally.  Daniel accepted the award on his behalf.
