Rabun Gap Eagles travel to play Sequoyah Chiefs on Friday night

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School Eagles varsity football team travels to play the Sequoyah Chiefs this Friday night, August 26, 2022.  Both teams will be looking for their first wins of the season as Rabun Gap lost to Baylor 38-21 and Sequoyah fell to Lambert 41-14.  Rabun Gap Director of Sports Information and Assistant to the Athletic Director, Coach Connor Cohea says the Eagles are hoping to fly to victory.  “Coming off a tough loss the opening week at home against Baylor but a great learning experience for our team.  We are very excited to travel to take on another good team, Sequoyah.  We know that is going to be a really lively atmosphere, they have a big student section, they are going to be dressing out a lot of players, and it’s good typical Georgia football.  So, we are very excited.  Just watching them on film, they definitely want to try to run the ball on us, chew up some clock, and really slow the game down.  So, we have to make sure that we do a good job of stopping the run and getting the ball back to our offense as much as possible.”  The game kicks off at 7:30pm.  The next Rabun Gap Eagles’ varsity football game on Real Country 100.3 is September 16, at 7pm as the Eagles host Christ School.
