Rabun County Schools release Statement about Apalachee High School 

Rabun County Schools reports many of you may have heard about the tragic events involving Apalachee High School and the Barrow County School System on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. While our thoughts and prayers are with their community, we want to assure you that there have been no threats against Rabun County Schools. Our on-campus SROs are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our faculty and staff daily and we have robust security systems and protocols in place. We are also coordinating with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office to provide additional security and support on campus in the coming days. The extra presence is a precautionary measure and shouldn’t alarm you or your child. The safety of our staff and students remains our top priority. Rabun County Schools will continue to work closely with local authorities to monitor the situation.
