Rabun County High School Names New Head Football Coach
At a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that Rabun County would be promoting a familiar face to the Head Coaching position after Jaybo Shaw announced he was taking the Head Coaching job at Wayne County.
Offensive Coordinator Michael Davis was announced as the new Head Coach for the Wildcats by Principal Justin Spiller.
Davis led the Rabun County offense to prolific numbers and averaged over 45 points per game while calling the plays for the Wildcats.
At the press conference, Davis led off by saying, “I’m extremely honored and humbled to be standing before you today as the next head football coach here at Rabun County. Rabun is special… I’ve only been here for about 8 months, but there’s a reason that this community and football team is special, and it’s one of the top in the state, in my opinion, the reason that it’s so special is because of the people, (is) the players, the community, the teachers, coaches and everybody here in place.”
Davis takes over with a state championship pedigree, winning 3 state titles at Calhoun in 2011, 2014, and 2017.
At the end of the press conference, Davis closed it out by saying, “Go Cats and long live the brotherhood.”
