Rabun County High School Helping Others

Rabun County High School wants your jeans. The High School’s Interact Club is conducting a clothing drive from now until February 10th called Jeans for Teens. The nationwide drive is sponsored by www.dosomething.org who is offering a $10,000 grant to the school that collects the most jeans nationwide, also the student who signed the school up gets a $4,000 scholarship if their school wins. For RCHS that would be Interact Club President Megan Houston, who found the program while searching for ideas to earn scholarship money and help the community. Houston believes the drive is good for the school and the community…

“I think it benefits the local community and school because it brings us all together, it’s something we can all work on together as a team to make a difference. I mean if one person collects jeans it’s hard to help people around the world, but if a whole community gets back behind it, they can make a huge difference, and help people have cloths everywhere.”

Jeans can be dropped off at the High School Front Office from now until February 10th.
