Rabun Co. Sheriff’s Office investigating Two Felony Thefts by Taking

Two recent felony thefts by taking are under investigation by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.  On August 26, a deputy took a report of someone getting into a Mountain City woman’s car while she was visiting her mother in Clayton and had stolen medicine, a necklace, and a wallet.  The woman told the deputy that she left her windows down while visiting her mother.  The total value of the items taken is $3,730.  On September 10, a deputy was dispatched to an address in Lakemont in reference to a stolen 2021 Can-Am Maverick X3 side by side that was stolen from his yard while he was at the store.  The total value of the vehicle is $25,000.  The vehicle has been entered into the Georgia Crimes Information Center and the North Carolina Crimes Information Center databases as stolen.
