Rabun Co. Rec’s 7th Annual Golf Fundraiser rated A Success

Despite the heat, the Rabun County Recreation Department’s 7th Annual Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Kingwood was rated a success, says Athletic Supervisor Adam Dixon.  “It was great!  Kingwood does a good job and Amanda Weber really helps us out there.  We had great lunches on the carts.  We had 22 teams come out and participate.  It was a two-person scramble.  It was kind of warm, but that’s June in Clayton, Georgia, so we knew that going in but we didn’t have any rain and the wind was pretty brisk in the morning so it made it comfortable, and then it died down in the afternoon so it made the golf a little more playable too because wind can really be rough on your golf game.  I think everybody had a good time.  We always have a great amount of prizes, our sponsors do such an awesome job.  It’s been a wonderful fundraiser and hopefully, we can keep it up for years to come.”  Almost every golfer walked away from the fundraiser with some kind of door prize.  Money raised from the golf tournament fundraiser goes to support scholarships and activities at the Rabun County Recreation Department.
