Rabun Co. Man is 15th Georgian charged in U.S. Capitol Riot

A Rabun County man is the 15th Georgian arrested as part of the nationwide investigation into the January 6, 2021, insurrection on the U.S. Capitol.  On Monday, September 26, 2022, the FBI arrested Blas Fabian Santillan at his home in Rabun County. He was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on capitol grounds, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a capitol building.  He was arraigned by a federal magistrate judge, assigned a federal public defender, and released on his own recognizance the same day.
