Produce Pummels Clayton Municipal Complex
Not your average roadside fruit stand
A semi truck carrying fruits and veggies overturned on Hwy 76 west while rounding the curve just in front of the Clayton Municipal Complex parking lot destroying a portion of the guard rail.
Assistant Chief of police Andy Strait had this to say on the matter…
” For some reason we haven’t determined yet, the driver lost control of the vehicle the vehicle struck the guard rail over turned over the guard rail striking a tree. The load was lost from the trailer and very quickly traveled into our Clayton Police parking lot.”
Fruit salad anyone?
As a result Clayton police were forced to reroute traffic through their own parking lot.
The driver walked away from the wreckage and was transported to a local hospital at his own request.
No other vehicles were involved and clean up could continue into the early evening.
