One Other Charged in Theft

One more is arrested in reference to an incident involving an alleged stolen metal press.

On March 2nd, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location on Highway 28 just south of the North Carolina state line, where they noticed drag marks in the pavement behind a vehicle with a flat tire.

The investigation led to the discovery of a heavy metal press allegedly taken from a location in Highlands, North Carolina, and then pulled down the roadway.

Thirty eight year old Benjamin Shannon Barnes of Clayton is charged with theft by receiving stolen property in addition to three others who have already been arrested.

The case is still under investigation in Rabun County and Macon County, North Carolina.
