Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter offering Spring Rabies Clinic

LAVONIA — The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia is offering a spring rabies clinic at their shelter on Bear Creek Road.

This year’s rabies clinic will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Pet owners do not have to be a resident of Franklin County to get their pet vaccinated. Rabies vaccines will be $5 for a one-year vaccine or $10 for a three-year vaccine. In addition to the dog and cat rabies vaccines, horse owners can also bring their horses to be vaccinated for $15.

Other annual dog and cat vaccines will also be offered at a discount. Both the distemper/parvo vaccine and the kennel cough vaccine will be $7. They will also be offering the FVRCP cat vaccines for $7.

In addition to vaccines, the shelter will also microchip your pet for just $20. That’s a small price to pay for being able to retrieve your pet if it ever gets lost and turned in to a shelter or veterinarian.

For more information on microchipping or the vaccines, you can contact the shelter at 706-356-5363.
