Northeast Ga Special Olympics Team Takes 5th in 25m Relay

The Northeast Georgia Special Olympics team saw great success, especially in swimming, when they competed with over 3,000 athletes in Atlanta at the State Summer Games earlier this month says Training Director Michael Urpschot…

“The whole team came in fifth and that’s fantastic!It was our first year out and just the communication, and when to go when to end, doing 25 meters and working as a team, that was a fantastic placement.”

The team also had individuals place in several competitions…

“Individually, Justin Truax placed first in individual men’s 25 meter, a very, very strong, fast swimmer. In addition, another member of our group competed in the track and field, James Andrews, he came in second in the running long jump and third in the 100 meter dash.”
