Nightly Lane Closures for US 78/SR 10 Loop Project

Construction partners with the Georgia DOT will implement single lane closures along the upcoming US 78/SR 10 Loop resurfacing project. The closures will occur nightly from 8pm until 6am.  Crews will be permitted to work Monday through Sunday, except for weekends that feature UGA home football games. On these weekends, the loop will remain open in order to compensate for additional traffic.  Work is expected to begin later this month and has an estimated completion date of December 2020. Be advised that the work is weather permitting. The project will begin just north of the Milledge Avenue Bridge and extend south of US 78/SR 10. Crews will perform milling, inlay, and plant mix resurfacing across approximately 12 miles of the corridor (including travel lanes, shoulders, and exits).  The maintenance project represents a $10.8 million investment in Clarke County and was awarded to C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. Please slow down and drive alert through the construction zone.
