NGTC ranked #1 in the State for Medical Assisting Program

North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) was recently named the #1 college in the state for Medical Assisting by medicalassistantadvice.com.  The ranking was based on many factors including program requirements, courses, employer satisfaction rate, graduation rate and license exam pass rate.  Medical assistants are allied health professionals who function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures, keeping the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. With their unique versatility, medical assistants are proving to be the allied health professional of choice for this decade and beyond. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting continues to be projected as one of the fastest growing occupations.  The Medical Assisting program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in the area of medical assisting. Graduates of the program receive a Medical Assisting diploma. The medical assisting program is offered at both the Clarkesville and Blairsville campuses. “NGTC is very proud of our Medical Assisting students and faculty,” said Christy Bivins, Dean for Academic Services at NGTC. “This distinction reinforces the type of graduates North Georgia Technical College produces. Our faculty members are also graduates of NGTC’s Medical Assisting Program, which emphasizes the tradition of excellence spanning over generations of students.”  NGTC is the first technical college in the state of Georgia, and is part of the Technical College System of Georgia. Its main campus is in Clarkesville, with additional campuses in Toccoa and Blairsville. For more information, visit northgatech.edu.
