NGTC names new agriculture director

North Georgia Technical College recently named Wayne Randall as the college’s new School of Agriculture program director.

Randall was previously the Franklin County school superintendent from 2016 to 2019 and has numerous years of experience teaching and developing agriculture education curriculum as well as working with a nationally recognized agriculture and FFA program.

North Georgia Technical College President Dr. Mark Ivester noted that Randall’s previous agriculture education experience is a perfect fit for the future of the college’s brand new School of Agriculture.

The college is currently accepting students interested in studying agriculture beginning fall semester 2019. The School of Agriculture will offer an associate degree and diploma in modern agriculture and agribusiness, as well as a technician certificate in sustainable urban agriculture.

The modern agriculture program allows the student to gain the appreciation for the reliance on natural resources, the basics of animal science, government involvement with food and agriculture, innovative technology within commercial agriculture and food processing and global impacts of food and agriculture
