NGTC Economic Development hosting Industry Summit
The North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Economic Development division is hosting the biannual Economic Development Summit, “Navigating Tomorrow: Trends and Workforce Innovations,” from 8:30am to 12pm, Oct. 17, at the Currahee campus conference center. The event will feature a keynote address from Stephanie Scearce, vice president of workforce innovation for the Georgia Association of Manufacturers (GAM), as well as an update on the Northeast Georgia Inland Port from the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), regional housing data, economic development updates from NGTC and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), and a panel discussion. “NGTC’s Economic Development Summit provides a unique opportunity to analyze our community’s current and future needs and to assist our business and industry leaders in preparing to meet those needs,” said NGTC Vice President of Economic Development Leslie McFarlin. “We look forward to hearing from each one of our speakers and panelists and invite the community to join us as we explore workforce trends and developments.” The event is free and open to the public. Campus tours will be provided at the conclusion of the program, and the culinary arts program will be providing lunch for $10 per person.
