MyGeorgia Credit Union to host Community-Based Blood Drives at Four Branches

In addition to its commitment to Helping People Afford Life, the newly rebranded MyGeorgia Credit Union is prepared to help people save lives with a series of blood drives at its branches in Gainesville, Clayton, Clarkesville and Cleveland, Ga. Having been a trusted community-based financial institution for 50 years in North Georgia under the former name – HALLCO Community Credit Union, MyGeorgia welcomes the opportunity to help those in need within the communities that surround its branches and beyond. To facilitate the blood drives over the weeks to come, MyGeorgia is teaming up with LifeSouth.  “For 50 years, we’ve had a hand in countless milestone moments in our members’ lives – at virtually every stage of life,” said Joe Foster, President and CEO of MyGeorgia Credit Union. “From starting a savings account for a new baby and approving an auto loan for a first car to helping secure a loan on a new home and creating a money market account to save for retirement. But, for us, community involvement goes even deeper than that. When we learned that there is a blood shortage here in Georgia, we felt compelled to offer our branch locations as staging areas for a series of blood drives. We are truly honored to play a role in addressing the blood shortage in North Georgia – a move that will hopefully save a lot of lives. I’d like to personally invite our members to join us in this effort, although you don’t have to be a MyGeorgia Credit Union member to take part. Come one, come all!”  Blood drives at MyGeorgia Credit Union branches are hosted on the following dates:

Thursday, June 17: Clayton branch – located at 91 East Savannah Street

Tuesday, June 22:  Gainesville branch – located at 2601 Limestone Parkway

Tuesday, June 29:  Clarkesville branch – located at 120 Church Sawmill Road

Thursday, July 1:  Cleveland branch – located at 379 East Kytle Street

In addition to the blood drives for the community, plans are underway for a series of pop-up Member Appreciation Days starting at the end of June and running through July at MyGeorgia’s branch locations –  a great opportunity for anyone  considering joining the community credit union to discover the MyGeorgia difference.  Unlike a traditional bank, MyGeorgia is a not-for-profit organization owned by its 20,000 members and directed by a voluntary board of directors.
