Mountain City Man arrested on Meth Charges

A Mountain City man faces methamphetamine charges after an incident this week in the City of Clayton.  According to the incident report from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 18-year-old Gary Trey Lamar Gerrells for illegal possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and possession and use of drug-related objects.  Deputies were informed of a suspicious vehicle on Jerry Gap Road. After locating the vehicle, deputies saw Gerrells grab a small plastic bag from the dashboard. When deputies asked to see what was in his hand, Gerrells gave the bag to deputies.  He was then arrested and transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
