Motorcycle Chase Ends In Driver Transported by EMS
Law enforcement chases a motorcycle through the streets of Clayton Tuesday.
According to a report on file with the Clayton Police Department, just before 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle whose tag was not displayed correctly.
Officer Ryan Hamilton with the Clayton Police Department says that he cautiously followed the motorcycle from Highway 76 West onto Rogers Street until he approached a location where the motorcycle had been abandoned by both the driver and passenger.
“When I got to the top of Rogers Street I saw the bike laying on its side, and the passenger of the bike run into the woods, so I chase her, and when I saw the driver running out of the woods I took off and chased him on foot and handcuffed him.”
Once arrested, the driver, identified as twenty four year old David Foster of Tennessee, complained of difficulty breathing. He was transported to Mountain Lakes Medical Center by Rabun County EMS.
Foster was charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Weaving Over Roadway, Obstruction, Reckless Driving, Passing in a No Passing Zone, Failure to Maintain Lane, Possession of Marijuana less than an ounce, and no proof of insurance.
