More Georgians to Vacation This Year

More Georgians plan on taking a summer vacation this year than have in recent years, says AAA.

According to a recent Consumer Pulse Survey by AAA, around 75% of Georgia residents plan on taking a vacation of four days or longer between the months of May and September this year.

That is a fifteen percentage point increase from 2011, and a five percentage point increase from one year ago.

AAA Spokesperson Jessica Brady says that it is a positive sign for the travel industry, as this is the second year in a row that the number of anticipated Georgian vacationers has increased.

A beach getaway is the most popular destination among Georgians this summer.
