More Data Released by District 2 Public Health on COVID Numbers

District 2 Public Health has released some updated COVID numbers for Northeast Georgia, including Rabun and Habersham Counties.

According to the data, (which was compiled through December 30th) Rabun County has 2,260 total positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic, including 224 hospitalizations and 65 deaths. The percent of positive tests for the week ending December 30th, was at 15.6%.

For vaccinations in Rabun County, 8,690 residents, or 52% of the population has received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, with 8,017 or 48% of residents being fully vaccinated.

In Habersham County, the total positive cases were at 6,809 since the beginning of the pandemic, 660 hospitalizations and 204 deaths since March of 2020.

Habersham County’s vaccination rate is 45% of residents, or 20,236 receiving one dose of a vaccine. 18,486 people or 41% of the population in Habersham County are fully vaccinated.
