Mildred Allison Rogers

Mildred Allison Rogers, 88, of the Chechero Community, Clayton, GA, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Mildred was born in Towns County, GA, March 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Elva Matheson Allison and had spent her life in Rabun County. Mildred was a homemaker, a merchant in the grocery store business, dealt in real estate and was a friend to her community. She was a member of Clayton Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Ideal Sunday School class of Clayton Baptist Church.

Mildred was thrice married; first to the late Floyd Rogers then to the late Harold Mincemeyer, and then to the late James D. (Red) Kelley. Besides her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Allison, Paul Allison, and Doyle Allison and also a sister, Ina Kozeski. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Gerschefski of Clayton, GA, a brother, John Allison, of Young Harris, GA and a sister, Louise Sheffield Stancil of Clayton, GA.

Funeral services will be at 3:00pm, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Lewis and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be at 5:30pm Sunday, in Laurel Hill Cemetery at 2615 Georgia Highway 17, Young Harris, GA 30582. A visitation will be at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm (the funeral hour).

The family is at the home on Allison Lane, Clayton, GA. Mrs. Rogers Family would like to give a special thanks to Homestead Hospice of Blairseville, GA., Michelle Underwood Alison, Sherry Howard and Anelia Matheson for all the wonderful Care , Love and support that you gave Mildred durning her time of need.
