Maud Harrelson of Tiger

Maud Miller Halford Harrelson, 80, of Tiger, GA, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Wednesday, May 18, 2016.

She was born February 9, 1936 in Hartsville, SC and was the daughter of the late James Clyde Halford and Maud Miller Halford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several half brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Harrelson is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James Harrelson; one son, J.R. Harrelson, Jr.; one daughter, Debra Ann Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Clint Yonce, Jeremy Kilpatrick, Kyle Kilpatrick, and Brittany Harrelson; and great-grandchildren, Aliah Yonce, Joshua Yonce, Serafina Kilpatrick and Kaileia Harrelson.

She attended Winthrop and Coker colleges and worked for American Movie Classics, Marcoin Business Systems and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She volunteered for the Prison Ministry and taught typing at DeKalb County Detention Center. She was a Methodist Church Youth Group leader, 5th grade Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout troop leader and Community Care helper.

Mrs. Harrelson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a friend to all who knew her.

Mrs. Harrelson attended St. James Episcopal Church in Clayton where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 2, 2016 with Father Steve Hall officiating.

In honor of Maud Harrelson, memorial donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church Outreach Ministry.
