Man Wanted in Habersham County Arrested

By MJ Kneiser, WLHR, Lavonia

A Lavonia man, wanted by Habersham County authorities for a shooting last week, is now behind bars.

28 year-old Clinton “Kulaid” Jester turned himself in to Lavonia Police over the weekend.

Jester was wanted by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly shooting Jared Carter in the leg last Thursday evening after an argument at Carter’s home in Alto.

He is being charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act and two counts of first-degree cruelty to children because the shooting took place in front of two children.

After the shooting, Jester left the scene and has been on the run ever since.

He turned himself in to Lavonia police on Sunday.

Jester was taken to the Franklin County Detention Center, but will be transferred to the Habersham County Detention Center this week.
