Lane Closures for SR 53 Eastbound Bridge Replacement over Chattahoochee River

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close lanes on State Route 53 (SR 53) eastbound and westbound between Stephens Circle and Sportsman Club Road. The closures are necessary to accomplish the reconstruction of the existing SR 53 Westbound bridge.  The closure is scheduled for Monday, November 30, 2020, through Thursday, December 17, 2020, 7pm to 6am (Monday to Thursday overnight).  Single left lane closure on SR 53 EB and single right lane closure on SR 53 WB before Lanier bridge. A flagging station will be setup on each end of the bridge. A pilot car will lead traffic EB and WB across the WB bridge. Work will be taking place on the EB bridge over Lake Lanier.  This closure is scheduled for Sunday, November 29, 2020, through Friday, December 18, 2020, 10pm to 6am (Friday and Sunday overnight).  Single left lane closure on SR 53 EB and single right lane closure on SR 53 WB before Lanier bridge. A flagging station will be setup on each end of the bridge. A pilot car will lead traffic EB and WB across the WB bridge. Work will be taking place on the EB bridge over Lake Lanier.  Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones.
