Lady Indians run Win Streak to Five in Comeback Win over Hart Co.

Brian Carter, Director of Sports Communication and Digital Media at Tallulah Falls School (TFS) reports that the MS Lady Indians volleyball extended its win streak to five in a 2-1 comeback win at home against Hart County on Thursday evening. The A-Team won in three sets after falling in the first, while the B-Team fell in straight sets.  The first set saw the girls battle back from down 7-2. The Lady Indians got within 7-6 on key digs and solid serving by Kate Gary, who also recorded a pivotal ace. Back-to-back aces by Kaylin Pickett also kept the girls in contention before Hart County pulled away for a 25-12 win in the opening set.  The second set was the reverse, as the Lady Indians stormed out to a 15-6 lead in a total team effort. Sarah Lundy had an ace that got TFS up 18-8 and forced a timeout by Hart County. Pickett recorded a kill to make it 19-9, and had the ace to secure the 25-11 second-set win.  The third and decisive set was back and forth at first, but TFS went up 7-3 to force another Hart timeout. A couple of long rally wins with Gary at the serving line had the Lady Indians in control. Pickett had a couple of kills late in the set, and Caylin Tucker’s ace helped secure the 15-7 win.  The B-Team had worked it to a 5-5 score before Hart jumped up 9-5. LB Kafsky had a nice serving streak with four straight aces to put TFS up 12-10. Hart came back to tie it at 14, and despite an ace by Ryleigh Wilson, Hart County retook the lead at 16-15 and ran away to a 25-17 win. In the second set, the girls fell 25-12 to polish off the night.  The A-Team’s win moves the Lady Indians to 9-2 overall on the season and 6-0 in conference play. The B-Team moves to 2-3-2 overall and 2-2-2 in conference. The girls return to action on Monday at Franklin County.
