James Harrison Ramey

James Harrison Ramey, age 75, passed away September 20, 2016. He was born May 6, 1941 the son of the late Isaac Harrison “Dock” Ramey and Willie Mae Taylor Ramey 

He is survived by his son, Jeff Smith (Deborah) of Lawrenceville, Ga., brother, Bobby K. Ramey (Gail) of Clayton, Ga., two sisters, Burma Ramey of Clayton, Ga., and Amanda R. Smith (Mark) of Clayton, Ga., and two grandchildren, Michael Smith (Nicole) and Sharron Smith Casstevens (Brandal); one niece, and several nephews also survive. 

Harrison worked for Steel Incorporated and retired after 35 years and after his retirement he worked at Clayton Welding. He loved Louis L’amour books and watching westerns. In his younger days he raised cattle. He loved his family and enjoyed people and was a member at Grace Bible Church. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday September 22, 2016 at Beck Funeral from 12pm to 2pm. Funeral services for James will be at 2pm on Thursday September 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Hurt and Doyle Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Rabun Memory Park. 

In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to Grace Bible Church 235 Dotson St., Mountain City, Ga. 30562.
