Isaac Affects Amtrak Crescent Line

Isaac’s landfall on the Gulf Coast is having an effect on the Amtrak Crescent line.

Amtrak announced Tuesday that all Amtrak service to and from New Orleans was suspended due to the storm.

In terms of the Crescent, this means that daily service from New York and Washington will terminate and originate in Atlanta, rather than New Orleans, with no service until further notice in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

The Crescent stops twice a day in Toccoa, once in the morning headed south and a second time at night as it heads back northbound.

Amtrak said it regrets any inconvenience.
