According to Chief Lindsey Owens with the Clayton Police Department, investigators have ruled the December 24th fire at 64 Dry Pond Road accidental.

The report on file with the Clayton Police Department stated that the resident, identified as Hazel Lee Saunooke, said there was smoke in her house Sunday night which she thought was caused by the damper in the chimney, so she left the house to let the smoke clear out.
