Indians of the Week named for week ending September 5

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) announces the Indians of the Week for the week ending on September 5, 2020.

Middle School Girl

“Eighth grader Karagan Branson is our Indian of the Week this week.  Karagan has been hustling on both the A and B teams over the last several weeks. Karagan will dive for any and every ball that comes in her direction.  She is one of our only players that will get on the ground and go for every ball, which has saved us some points in our A Team matches. Karagan has also led in her serves on the B Team and pulled through with some critical points in the past few matches. Karagan shows grit and determination. Karagan also does a great job at lifting her teammates up and being a voice on the team,” said Coach Whittney LaHayne.

Middle School Boy

“Eighth grader Everett VanOrman works hard daily to improve. It is definitely showing at practice and his first tennis season match against Banks Co. Middle School. Everett won 8-0 not giving up one game at the #2 singles spot. He is always listening and taking in as much tennis knowledge that a coach can give. He is determined to do the best he can,” said Coach Lisa Wilcox.

High School Girl

“Layne Kafsky has really stepped up her game this year. She is doing an excellent job on defense in the back row and is leading the team with kills. Layne has also been nearly perfect on serving. Her leadership on the court sets a quiet and steady pace for the team,” said Coach Matt Crotta.

High School Boy

“School record-holding junior and team captain Evan Prince ran 16:17.20 to place 13th of 262 varsity harriers among 45 schools from Georgia and neighboring Alabama at the AT&T Starrs Mill Panther Invite. Evan also set up a home course service day project to prepare for our first home meet of the season. Even more than his earned talent and accolades, Evan’s service and team mindset is what makes him great,” said Coach Scott Neal.
