House passes Cline Bill to help Small Businesses

Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, released the following statement after the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019 (H.R. 3311) passed the House. Judiciary member Rep. Ben Cline (R-Va.) introduced the Small Business Reorganization Act.  “Small businesses are a critical part of our economy, employing families across the country,” said Collins. “With the Small Business Reorganization Act, we can help small business owners receive much-needed relief while reorganizing their businesses due to financial difficulties. Thanks to the leadership of Congressman Cline, the Small Business Reorganization Act passed the House today and now heads to the Senate. I encourage all senators to support this important legislation to help our main street businesses.”  The Small Business Reorganization Act offers needed reform to chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code to help small businesses have greater flexibility to reorganize their debts in bankruptcy.
