Honda swerves to miss Bear and strikes Tree

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked a motor vehicle accident on September 16, 2023, at 6:33am on Bridge Creek Road at its intersection with Hopkins Lane. The driver of a 1992 Honda Accord said that he was negotiating a curve when a bear came out of the woods into his lane of travel, so he swerved to avoid a collision, left the roadway, and struck a tree head-on. No one was injured.
