Groom Case Ruled a Mistrial

The Court case of The State of Ga vs Travis Groom has been ruled a mistrial due to a Hung Jury. Public Defender Drew Powell had these remarks after the trial…

“Well it means there was at least some people on there that felt our client was not guilty. Obviously they were not able to come to a decision so that means that we’re going to have to try this case again. You know we’ll try it again and we’ll do our best. Who knows what the outcome will be in the second trial, but we will be trying to convince twelve people next time that he’s not guilty.”

It has been said that the jury was split into three groups with different views on how the case should be ruled and could not come to an agreement. The case will be retried at a later date.
