Georgia Power Helps Local Town
Last Thursday, Georgia Power gave the town of Tallulah Falls a free building. It was the Art Center in Tallulah Falls that Georgia Power used to work from and has owned for some time now. Discussions started last year about what to do with the building, Georgia Power even talked of demolishing the building at one point, but Tallulah Falls Mayor, Carl Seaman says it will see new life…
“I think it’s unanimous, I think that everybody liked the idea. We are an outdoor town, we have lots of venues for people that love the outdoors, we need a place where people can walk in the door, and they can get, literally hundreds of options of what to do for that day, and at the same time maybe buy a raft, or a kayak, or a canoe, or maybe get supplies for a picnic lunch.”
The City will be looking for someone to takeover the building as an Outdoor Center, maybe even a Welcome Center of sorts..
“We’d love to see someone in there this summer, but, you know, it’s uncharted waters for us and we’ll have to wait and see how it works.”
Tallulah falls plans to take bids on the building for its use in the very near future.
