General Manager gives Monthly Report to RCWSA

At their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 13, the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) heard General Manager Brendan Thompson’s report for March of 2021.  “The March 2021 ending balance on RCWSA Operating Bank Account is $57,389.66.  For the South Water System, the March 2021 water bill has been delivered to the City of Clayton. Unit Rate is $3.19/1,000 gallons beginning in July 2020. Water Bill Amount is $106,038.25.  Lake Rabun WTP pumped to distribution system volume for February 2021 was 32,802,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for March 2021 was 33,632,000 gallons; an increase of 830,000 gallons or 2.5% from February 2021 to March 2021.  Pumped to distribution system volume for March 2020 was 34,294,000 gallons; a decrease of 662,000 gallons or -1.9% from March 2020 to March 2021.  The City of Clayton’s March 2020 volume was 28,854,722 gallons. The City of Clayton’s March 2021 volume was 33,240,830 gallons. An increase of 4,386,108 gallons or 15.2% increase.  Customers’ March 2021 meter readings were done March 25, 2021. Bills were sent out March 31, 2021.  No new taps for the month of March 2021.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of March 2021 was 1.8%.  For the North Water System, the Little Tennessee WTP pumped to distribution system for February 2021 was 12,490,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for March 2021 was 14,357,000 gallons; an increase of 1,867,000 gallons or 14.9% from February 2021 to March 2021.  Customers’ March 2021 meter readings were done March 25, 2021. Bills were sent out March 31, 2021.  One new tap for the month of March 2021; Edward Shelton, Ridges of Rabun. To be installed in early April 2021.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of March 2021 was 3.1%.”  Also at the Rabun County Water Reclamation Facility and Collection System, regular preventive maintenance on motors and machinery continues and fire hydrant maintenance and valve exercising is ongoing.
