GBI Bomb Unit Called After Dynamite Was Found

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Bomb Unit is called in after two stolen vehicles are recovered last week.

The vehicles were located on U.S. Forest Service land here in Rabun County.

A 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII was reported stolen in South Carolina on July 10th of this year. That vehicle was found on U.S. Forest Service land here in Rabun County last Tuesday, August 21st.

Three sticks of dynamite were found inside of the stolen Lincoln, causing the notification of the GBI’s bomb unit. Sheriff Frank Andrews says that the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit Pinda was a part of located the dynamite in the vehicle.

The other vehicle was a 1994 Honda Accord stolen from a residence on Warwoman road on August 20th.

The investigation into who stole the vehicles is ongoing.
