Friday last opportunity for early voting

As of Tuesday, roughly 745 Rabunites have made their way to the polls to cast their early vote(s) in the upcoming SPLOST.

According to Elections Supervisor Tammy Whitmire, precisely 493 absentee ballots have been mailed and the Board of Elections Office have already received back 362.

Whitmire said they are right on track to reach an estimated voter turnout of 1,000 by Friday when Early Voting will come to an end.

Voters will take to the polls on election day Tuesday, March 19 to determine the special-purpose local-option sales tax (SPLOST) as well as one council seat for Sky Valley residents.

Whitmire said if residents have received an absentee ballot, it’s not too late to send them in. Just make sure to have them into the Board of Election’s Office by 7 p.m. on election day.
