Foxfire Friends visit TFS
Leadership representatives from the Foxfire organization visited Tallulah Falls School (TFS) on May 3, reports E. Lane Gresham, Director of Communications and Media at TFS. President and Head of School Dr. Larry A. Peevy met with Foxfire Board Chair Dr. Laura West and new Executive Director Todd Faircloth. TFS has an ongoing partnership with the organization that celebrates Appalachian heritage, including an experiential summer internship. The Foxfire Fellows program invites Rabun County-based students to apply for this prestigious paid assignment; TFS students spend several weeks immersed in learning about local history. Students learned about storytelling, traditional crafts, music, blacksmithing, fireside cooking, etc. The students were also involved in producing an issue of the Foxfire Magazine.
