Five Wrecks reported in Rabun County

Deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office recently responded to five motor vehicle collisions in the county.  The first happened on Sept. 25, at 11:52am on Turpin Street at its intersection with Jones Street. A 2014 Toyota Camry was making a right turn when it collided with a 2010 Nissan Sentra.  One person was transported by EMS to Mountain Lakes Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the two-vehicle accident. The second wreck occurred on Sept. 27, at 11:45am on Seed Lake Road.  A 2009 Yamaha V-Star failed to maintain a curve, ran off the roadway, and laid the motorcycle down on its side. The passenger on the motorcycle was taken by EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the single-vehicle accident.  The third wreck happened on Sept. 27, at 5:54pm on Georgia 15 North at its intersection with Blackrock Mountain Parkway. A 2008 Saturn Astra was turning onto the parkway when it was struck by a 2012 Acura TSX. No one was injured in the two-vehicle accident. The fourth wreck occurred on Sept. 27, at 6:24pm on Georgia 2 West.  A 1998 Ford Mustang was slowing down to turn when it was rear-ended by a 1996 Toyota Tacoma. Both vehicles were removed from the roadway and left on private property. No one was injured in the two-vehicle accident. The fifth wreck happened on Sept. 28, at 5:15pm on Georgia 15. A 1996 Chevy S10 lost traction, went into the median, returned to the roadway, and overturned, coming to rest on the driver’s side.  The driver was not injured in the one-vehicle accident.
