Five Recent Wrecks in Rabun County
Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked five recent wrecks in the county. The first happened at 3:53pm on September 24, on Highway 441 North when a 2019 Ford King Ranch pulled into a store parking lot and struck a 2000 Toyota RAV4 that was backing out of a parking space. No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision. The second wreck occurred at 7:27am on September 25, on Georgia 15 near Goat Mountain Drive when the driver of a 2004 Ford Expedition suffered a seizure, lost control of the vehicle, exited the roadway, and struck a culvert pipe. The driver was taken by Rabun County EMS to Mountain Lakes Medical Center. The third wreck took place at 3:22pm on September 26, on Georgia 15 near West Boggs Mountain Road when a 2013 Mazda 4S sideswiped a 2016 RAM 1500. No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision. The fourth wreck happened at 10:45am on September 27, on Highway 197 when the driver of a 2004 Honda motorcycle lost control and had to lay the motorcycle down. No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision. The fifth wreck occurred at 7:31pm on September 27, when a 2018 Ford F150 struck a bear that ran onto the roadway. No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.
