Fire on Owl Mountain

“We got called out to an out of control woods fire. Units arrived on scene up on Owl Mountain to find, right now we’re estimating 12 to 15 acres. Got about 15 to 20 firefighters, Georgia Forestry is on scene and U.S. Forest Service also on the scene.”

 The firefighters from stations 1, 6, and 12 had the flames under control in about 15 minutes. No injures were reported at the scene and Firefighters are still looking into the cause of the forest fire. Georgia Forestry now estimates that the fire consumed around 40 acres.
