Fatal Car Accident on Warwoman

A Rabun County employee is killed in a car accident.

Rabun County’s Recycling Director Timothy Cecil Browning passed away following a two vehicle collision that occured on Warwoman Road just west of Sarah’s Creek Road just after 5:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Trooper John Crawford with the Georgia State Patrol says Browning was traveling East on Warwoman Road when he collided with a 1997 Nissan pick-up truck driven by 23 year old Seth Ryan Burrell.

“The Nissan, for an unknown reason, was on his [Browning’s] side of the roadway to the point where he was fully in his lane almost straddling the fog line.”

Browning was transported to Mountain Lakes Medical center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Rabun County Administrator Jim Bleckley says that he cannot imagine what the family is going through right now, and that Browning will be missed.

“For us in the county, he was a model employee, a terrific person, did a fabulous job for us for years and years, and he was just a super human being,” said Bleckley. “We’re going to miss him terribly. I don’t know how we’ll replace him.”

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital with, according to Crawford, two broken legs and various internal injuries.

The State Patrol’s investigation into this incident is continuing.
