Fairplay Woman arrested for Meth in Rabun Co.

A Fairplay, South Carolina woman faces two drug charges after a recent incident in Rabun County.  On Nov. 29, a deputy was flagged down by a man at the Exxon off Georgia 15 in Mountain City. The man said his mother had gone crazy on him in the vehicle as he was driving from South Carolina to Tennessee.  The mother, identified as 46-year-old Bridgett Grooms, told the deputy that she had methamphetamine in her purse. She produced a bad containing three glass pipes containing a white residue that was suspected of being methamphetamine as well as another bag that contained a clear crystal-like substance suspected of being methamphetamine.  She was then arrested for possession and use of drug-related objects and possession of a schedule I controlled substance.
