Evelyn Youngblood

Evelyn Coalley Youngblood, age 79 of Tiger, Georgia passed away on October 17, 2021.

 

Evelyn was born the daughter of the late William Edward Coalley and the late Nora Carnes Coalley on June 9, 1942. In her professional life she worked as a teacher and center coordinator for the Rabun County Head Start.

 

Evelyn loved her family, they were all special and dear to her. She often could be heard saying how much she enjoyed getting the whole family together. It always brought her such joy to hear a knock at the door and find one of her children, grandchildren, or great- grandchildren standing there smiling to greet her. In her pastime she enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, feeding the birds, baking, crocheting and canning grape jelly and apple butter. She was a Christian and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. She was always thankful to God for his saving and constant protection and loving care.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Youngblood; two brothers, Curtis Coalley and Leonard Coalley; and brother in law, Frank Sutton.

 

Her survivors include her three children, Carol Harrison (Bill), Byron Youngblood (Debbie), Mark Youngblood ( Michelle); two brothers, Charles Coalley (Violet), Charlie Coalley (Teresa); her sisters, Elizabeth Dennis (Harold), Helen Sutton; sister in law, Martha Youngblood Gould; grandchildren, Holly Johnson, Jenny Stark (Joe), Sarah Youngblood, Luke Youngblood (Sig), Ethan Youngblood (Crystal), Jake Youngblood; great-grandsons, Rex Youngblood, Aidan Allgary, Eli Talley; great-grandaughters, Everly Youngblood, Emsley Youngblood, Alice Stark, Stella Talley, Karson Youngblood; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 20, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Georgia.

 

A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Georgia, with Justin Coalley officiating.

 

A private family graveside service will follow in the Burch Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia.

 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Evelyn’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
