Early Voting off to a bang in Rabun County

Early voting is off to a bang in Rabun County as voters are flocking to the polls to cast a ballot in the November 3, General Election, says Sandra Wood, Administrative Assistant for the Rabun County Elections Office.  “Well, early voting in Rabun County started off with a bang!  We had a very unusually large number of voters come out almost every day.  The first week our total for early voting in-person that came to vote here at our office was 2,455 voters.  Also, we have received 1,917 absentee ballots by mail back during this time for a total of 4,372 voters have voted so far.  It’s been an unusual week, usually, the first week of early voting is a slow week and the last week is the one that is the heaviest but this year it’s not typical.  We are anticipating more absentee ballots to be turned in and we encourage people to bring them here to the office and put them in our drop box, which is on the porch of the Board of Elections Office.”  Early voting at the Rabun County Elections Office is available from 8am to 6pm, Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 9am to 4pm.  The Rabun County Elections Office is located at 18 Old Raco High Drive, Suite 105 in Clayton.
